How I Overcame Writer’s Block
A few days ago I found myself coming home from work fumbling through my mind unsuccessfully to find something to blog about.
Sometimes we’re plagued with writer’s block. We really want to keep our readers engaged in our blog. However, when we try to start writing our mind goes blank with ideas.
I was suffering from that exact same thing a couple of days ago. Finally, I have found myself slowly coming out the writer’s slump!
The key I found to the formula was inspiration. I found out that once I get some inspiration in me I felt a sudden burst of energy and drive to start writing again.
I’m writing this post primarily to share the reason why I haven’t been posting as well as to let persons who may be in the same slump know that you are not alone.
We all have that period or time in our lives where we feel a slump toward completing certain tasks or things in our lives. There is always a way(s) to overcome it.
I was able to gain inspiration to start writing again by doing 3 simple steps.
- Reading a few Motivational Blog posts and articles
- Listening to some upbeat music
- Watching a few funny videos on YouTube
That’s it! Can you believe it. All I needed was to just gain some inspiration. Sources of inspiration may be different for each writer. What may work as a source of inspiration for me may or may not work as sources of inspiration for you. What I would suggest is to find a number of things that inspire you so whenever you are in the slump you just turn to those things to get you back into the grove of things.
Do you experience writer’s block from time to time? What are three things that get your writing juices flowing and make you want to write again? I would love to hear from you. Go ahead and comment 🙂
