I am no success expert. Matter of fact I’m actually still on the road to achieving my own goals. Each day I see myself getting closer and closer to my goals that I can almost taste it. I do a lot of reading and due to that I stumble upon inspiring pieces of writing very often.

The information I’m sharing with you below is based on tips and tricks I’ve gathered from social media posts or articles written by highly successful people such as Steve Harvey , Bill gates and a wide array of others on achieving your goals. I attest to these 4 P’s because once I switched up my lifestyle regimen of goal seeking and started to abide by these I saw myself  reaching closer to my goals each and every day.

PERSISTENCE

I know you’ve heard the saying, ‘The race is not for the swift but for those who can endure‘. That’s where the first ‘P’ comes in, Persistence Rome was definitely not built in a day. The builders had to work long and hard to achieve the finished product. That example can be likened to us seeking to achieve our goals. We have to keep trying despite the odds and difficulty . I know based on experience how easy it is to want to give up when we’re not seeing immediate results in the path to our goals. Overnight sensations are rare . Many persons who are famous today had to be persistent and unwavering in their pursuit. Steve Harvey in his his article the 4 P’s to success which can be found here quoted : “You’ve got to understand that you absolutely have to persist. You’ve to insist that this has to happen for you and then when it starts going wrong you got to develop some doggedness in you.”

PASSION

Stop and ask yourself right now, ‘Is what I’m trying to achieve what I’m truly passionate about?’ Passion makes the road to your goals much smoother . When you have a strong enthusiasm to achieve your goal and is excited about it every step of the way, it makes it that much easier to see your goals played out in front of you. I have set out to achieve goals I was not passionate about and it was the hardest thing to achieve. Due to me not having the passion or drive for it I ended up not completing that goal or taking forever to reach to it. My favorite Ellen Degeneres quote goes like this : ‘Follow your passion. Stay true to yourself. Never follow someone else’s path unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path. By all means, you should follow that.’

PATIENCE

Timing is everything. Being patient doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait forever, it just means that you have to wait a little while longer. Being able to wait a little while longer is just what you need on your road to your goals. While you’re hustling and doing whatever else will take you to your goals just know that your time is coming soon. It may not be today or tomorrow but just know it’s coming pretty soon. Billionaire investors Warren Buffet and Bill Gates definitely agree that patience is a great attribute to have. With one (Buffet) saying ” Successful investing takes time, discipline and patience. No matter how great the talent or effort, some things just take time.” Bill Gate’s has also exclaimed, “Patience is a key element of success.”

Planning

PlanAhead

How will you know where to go if you haven’t planned? Planning is a very important step in helping you achieve your goals. It’s kind of like a blue print telling you where you need to go or what you need to do next. French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once said,  “A goal without a plan is just a wish.”

With that being said you should now understand that the 4 P’s to helping you achieve your goals are  Persistence, Passion, Patience and Planning.  With that my friend you will be on your way !
